PHOTO, POSTER, VIDEOGRAPHY & COLLAGE COMPETITION

 Rules for Submission of entries for competition being organised as a part of celebration of International Biodiversity Day-2017.

Eligibility- Any individual, enterprise or organisations who are engaged in Eco-Tourism, Wildlife-Tourism, Wilderness-Tourism, Agriculture-Tourism or any other form of tourism based on Nature.

Categories of Competition

  1. Photography
  2. Posters
  3. Photo collage
  4. Video-Documentary Film
  5. Photo Document

Theme of the above categories

  1. Photograph(s), Collage(s), Poster(s), Video-Documentary Film, Photo-document etc. should highlight or clearly depict the measures taken by the individual or organisation for the conservation of Forest, Wildlife, water and other Biological diversity in the area.
  2. Photograph(s), Collage(s), Poster(s), Video-Documentary Film and Photo-document etc. that showcases the efforts being made by individual/organisation for observing 'Swacchata or cleanliness' in the area.
  3. Measures taken to create awareness regarding conservation of Wildlife, Biological diversity, Water and Environment among the Local People, Tourists etc.
  4. In the Photo Document, the individual/organisation can give details in not more than 1000 words of activities organised by them to promote Nature, Wildlife, Water and Environment Conservation etc in the area along with appropriate photographs.

Note*: This is the maximum number of items that an individual or an organization can submit in each category.

Note**: The maximum length of the Video-Documentary can be of 3 to 5 minute and only one entry will be accepted from each individual or organization.

Copyrights and other conditions:

Entries submitted for the competition will be subject to the following conditions:

  1. Entries can be sent through speed-post, courier or special messenger.
  2. Entries received after the due date will not be entertained.
  3. Ownership of the photographs and other materials submitted as entries for the competition should belong to the individual or the organization. Pre-published work can be submitted provided it does not violate Copyright of any individual or organization.
  4. The competitor shall be solely responsible for any legal or other complication arising out of the use of material covered under any Copyright.
  5. Selection and declaration of the winners will be decided by a Judging Committee constituted for the purpose. The verdict of the Committee shall be final.
  6. All material submitted for the competition shall become the property of the Uttarakhand Biodiversity Board and it shall be free to use it in any way as it deems fit for the promotion of Biodiversity Conservation.   
  7. The participants shall take all measures not to misinform or hurt the religious sentiment of any community, group or individual. The Uttarakhand Biodiversity Board shall not be held responsible for any misinformation, disinformation or for hurting the religious sentiment or misrepresentation or denigration of cultural and traditional practices of any community, group or individual.
  8. The Uttarakhand Biodiversity Board shall not bear the cost of photography/videography, photographs/videos and other materials submitted as entries in the competition.
  9. The participants may note that the said competition is being organized to document the best practices being adopted by individuals or organizations of Uttarakhand practicing eco-tourism in the state and the materials so collected will be used to showcase such activities on National and International stage. Therefore, the prize may not be commensurate with the expectations of the participants.
  10. Other condition as the Chairman, Uttarakhand Biodiversity Board may include before the competition.
